History of the Faculty

— Initially established in 1981 as "Faculty of Accounting and Management";
— Started to enrol students in Bachelors Degree in Public Administration since 1984;
— Started to enrol students in Bachelors Degree in Insurance Management since 1987;
— Started to enrol students in Masters Degree in Accounting, Public Administration: Human Resource Development, Public Administration: Development Management, Public Administration: Organizational Behaviour Management, and Public Administration: Public Policymaking since 1988;
— Started to enrol students in Masters Degree in Business Administration: Marketing, International Business, and PhD degree in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, and Business Policymaking since 1990;
— Started to enrol students in Bachelors Degree in Tourism Management and Hospitality Management since 1991;
— Started to enrol students in PhD Degree in Accounting, Public Administration: Organisational Behaviour Management, Public Administration: Public Decision-making and Policymaking, Public Administration: Human Resource Management, and Public Administration: Comparative and Development Management since 1994;
— Started to enrol students in Bachelors Degree in Accounting since 1996;
— Started to enrol students in Masters Degrees in Industrial Management: Operations Research (OR), Industrial Management: Production and Operations, IT Management: Advanced Information Systems, and Technology Management: Technology Transfer since 1997;
— Started to enrol students in Masters Degree in History and Philosophy of Education since 2002;
— Started to enrol students in Bachelors Degree in Industrial Management since 1998;
— The Faculty's name changed from "Accounting and Management" to "Management and Accounting" in 1999.
— Started to enrol students in Masters Degrees in Urban Management since 2001;
— Started to enrol students in PhD Degree in Industrial Management: Operations Research (OR) and Industrial Management: Production and Operations, and masters degree in Tourism Management: Tourism Marketing since 2003;
— Started to enrol students in PhD Degree in Technology Management: Research and Development since 2005;
— Started to enrol students in Masters Degree in Auditing and PhD degree in IT Management since 2011;
— Started to enrol students in PhD Degrees in Tourism and Masters Degree in Islamic Banking since 2012;
— Started to enrol students in Masters Degree in Managerial Accounting since 2013;
— The Faculty Moved to ATU's new campus in 2014;
— Started to enrol students in Masters Degree in Public Sector Accounting since 2017;
— Started to enrol students in Masters Degree in Finance: Banking, Finance: Financial Engineering and Risk Management, and Bachelors degree in Financial Management since 2018.

Faculty Members

To date, 77 full-time faculty members provide educational and research services to students at Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD levels. As of May 2021, about 197 visiting lecturers are also providing part-time support to the teaching activities in the Faculty.

Library

There is a library in MA, keeping a catalogue of more than 50 000 volumes in English and Persian.

There are also hundreds of Masters dissertations and PhD theses in the library, and users may enjoy free online access to all theses and dissertations at ATU's Digital Library portal.
